Product Care
We recommend that customers check the product's material and refer to our general guidelines for handling each item purchased from us.
Below are the general guidelines for most of our offerings:
But, consider pre-washing first.
Prewash any natural fibers that you plan to wash in the future, as some shrinkage may occur. We recommend prewashing in the same manner you intend to wash your fabric later, including drying. Wash all brights, darks, and lights separately, as some colors may run during their first few washes.
CARE INSTRUCTION
Cotton shrinks due to the tension applied to its yarn and fabrics during the construction of the clothing. This is why most cotton garments will experience shrinkage during their first wash. To minimize shrinkage, it is best to wash cotton items by hand or use cold water and the delicate cycle on your washing machine.
Machine Washing
- Hot water shrinks fabric.
- Set the washing machine to use cold water.
- Wash on the delicate cycle.
- Line dry the clothes to prevent shrinking in the dryer.
- Reshape cotton sweaters and other delicates, and dry them flat on top of the dryer or on a drying rack.
- If you want to dry your garments in the dryer, do so on a low or no-heat setting.
- Hang them before they are completely dry to help prevent both shrinking and wrinkles.
- Wash light colors separately.
- Use a medium heat iron.
Hand Washing
- Hot water shrinks fabric.
- Fill the sink with warm water and add some laundry soap made for hand washing.
- Place the cotton garments in the wash water.
- Agitate them gently by hand.
- Soak for the amount of time indicated on the detergent packaging.
- To rinse the items, drain the tub and then refill it with cool water.
- Agitate the garments by hand until soap bubbles no longer come out of them.
- Repeat this process several times to remove all the soap.
- Squeeze excess water out of the clothing, but do not wring out the items, as this will cause wrinkling.
- Remove the excess water and line dry the garments.
- Lay them flat to dry or place them in the dryer on a low or no-heat setting to prevent shrinking
- Use a medium heat iron
Anti Microbial
- Use room temperature water.
- Use normal strength detergent.
- Can be machine washed or hand washed.
- Use non-chlorine or color-safe bleach.
- Iron or steam iron as needed.
- Hang to dry.
- Do not use chlorine bleaching.
- Do not dry clean.
- Dry the clothes indoors to minimize the possibility of oxidization of the active ingredient.
- The odor-inhibiting function of the garment is related to foul smells caused by odor-causing microorganisms; if the smell comes from other sources, the antimicrobial garment will not be able to stop that.
- The nanotech layer functions 24/7, so it is adequate to wash once a month using soft laundering.
- The anti-bacterial technology can withstand up to 70 washes. After 70 washes, the nanotechnology degrades very slowly, so you can still feel the effect.
- ISO standards for all dyes and coloring/coatings are 50 rounds of durability, making this last longer than the ISO standards.
Chiffon
- Chiffon comes in many types, but generally, use a low temperature for all chiffon.
- Iron while damp.
- Silk chiffon is the most delicate. Follow care instructions for silk (except ironing), but be extra gentle when handling it, i.e., handwashing, pressing dry, ironing.
Cotton
- Machine wash cotton items in cold or warm water. Do not use hot water as it may shrink the cotton.
- Use regular wash cycles and gentle detergent.
- Avoid using any harsh chemicals like bleach and fabric softener.
- Tumble dry on a low setting, then promptly remove the item from the dryer to avoid wrinkles.
- Iron to remove wrinkles. Adding a spray starch will revive the crispness of cotton fabrics.
How to Unshrink cotton Clothes in 6 Steps :
- Use lukewarm water and gentle shampoo or soap.
- Fill a sink or tub with lukewarm water and add a capful of baby shampoo or hair conditioner. You may also try using the same amount of laundry detergent formulated for delicate cycles.
- Soak for up to 30 minutes. This is when the fibres will begin to loosen.
- Gently remove water from the clothing. When time is up, gently squeeze water from the clothing, but do not rinse the items.
- Lay the clothing on a flat towel. Roll the towel, with the clothing inside, squeezing gently to release more water until the clothing is damp rather than wet.
- Lay the clothing on another dry flat towel. As you position it on the towel, stretch it gently back to its preshrunk size.
- Let the clothing air dry.
Denim
- As a general rule of thumb, all denim should be turned inside-out and washed on the slowest spin cycle and lowest temperature to cut down on friction and reduce fade.
- Limit the number of denim pieces in the machine to three or four pairs for the same reason.
- Once out of the washer, turn the jeans the right side out and allow them to dry thoroughly either on a washing line or flat away from direct sunlight before storing.
- Never put them into a tumble dryer and remember that indigo may drip onto the floor, so don’t hang them over a new carpet.
- If there are creases, set your iron to a high-temperature setting but use steam and preferably a cloth between the denim and the iron to prevent shine.
Laces/Velvets/Jacquards
- Dry clean only.
- Please note some of these fabrics are delicate, so please be careful against rough surfaces and snagging.
Linen
- Dry clean recommended to guarantee color integrity.
- Do not machine wash; hand wash at your own risk.
- Dry colored linens in the shade (fading will occur in sunlight).
- Use a hot/warm iron.
Silk
- Use moderate temperature when ironing.
- Iron while damp.
- High temperature might cause silk to yellow and fade.
- Silk is sensitive to sunlight and might spoil under strong sunlight, so do not hang them outside to dry!
How to Care for Silk After Washing
Silk is a high maintenance fabric, but the steps you can take to keep it looking its best are simple and worth the effort. Apart from taking care of the garment when washing and drying, you can also do more to care for your silks, from handling wrinkles and creases to storing silk.
- Turn the garment inside out and set the iron to low heat or the silk setting.
- Only iron silk when dry.
- Place a cloth between the silk and the iron.
- Do not spray or wet silk when ironing.
- Hang silk garments in a cool, dry place.
- Store silk in a breathable plastic bag if planning to put it away for a long time.
- Keep silk out of the sun.
- Use moth repellent when storing silk.
Polyester
- Most polyester fabrics may be machine-washed using warm water; check care labels first.
- Tumble dry polyester garments on low heat.
- Remove them from the dryer while they're still slightly damp to prevent wrinkles and avoid static buildup.
- If ironing is required, use a low heat setting; Polyester will melt beneath a hot iron.
Rayon/Viscose
- Dry cleanable and can be machine washed in cool water or hand washed; do not twist or wring, and iron on the reverse side.
-
Mix a Washing Solution:
- Fill a sink or large bucket with cold water.
- Add gentle detergent and mix well.
- Submerge the garment.
-
Gently Agitate:
- Gently agitate the item in the sudsy water to completely saturate and loosen the soil.
- Allow it to soak for at least 15 minutes.
-
Rinse in Cool Water:
- Rinse in cool water until the soap is gone and the water runs clear.
